This means that you do not have to spend time on shortening, stripping wires, making holes, or complicated bends, nor invest in expensive special tools. Cu- ex is made of copper wires that are inter-woven ensuring a total exible busbar. By the use of a patented technique, the ends of the busbars are forged to a solid piece, thus eliminating the risk of loose connections between busbar and cable shoes. Simultaneously a well-de ned contact surface is obtained, making it possible to have maintenance-free connections. ‒ CUBIC offers an innovative range of type-tested, reinforced, insulated, and versatile copper busbars. CUBIC TESTED FLEXIBLE COPPER BUSBARS Cu-flex busbars ensure a prompt and professional execution of electrical connections. The busbars are supplied ready for use! This means that you do not have to spend time on shortening, stripping the wires, making holes, or complicated bends. Cu-flex has been tested and approved under various cir umstances by i.a. DEKRA and DNV/GL. In addition Cu-flex is UL recognized in category “Component - Panelboard and Switchboard Accessories”. Connection: Busbar to busbar Connection: BUSBAR WITH A MINIMUM OF MAINTENANCE A Cu-flex copper busbar is made of copper wires that are woven to a flexible busbar. CUBIC’s patented technique forges the ends of the busbar to a solid unit. No tin or the like has been added. Thus obtaining a contact surface that ma kes it possible to produce maintenance-free connections. ADVANTAGES WITH A CU-FLEX BUSBAR • Delivered ready for use • No shortening, stripping or making holes for fitting required • Multi-flexible • Rated current at 30 0 C, up to 1040A • Lengths 160 - 1120 mm • Time-saving installation • Does not contain dioxins • Up to 1000V The Cu- ex insulation is a chapter by itself. First of all it corresponds to reinforced insulation (same degree of protection as double insulation) and can therefore be used as non-protected conductor. Secondly it is non- ammable, no dioxins are invo ved, so it is non-polluting, and it is able to withstand a continuous temperature of 120oC, which makes it possible to load the busbars with relatively high voltages. Cu- ex has been type-tested by KEMA, Holla d, in vario modes of use, such as connection between distribution busbars and functional units. KEMA has issued a certi cate for the tested results. 3 160 224 288 352 416 480 544 608 672 736 800 864 928 1120 FB25 X 1) X 1) X 1) X 1) X 1) X 1) X X X X X X X X FB50 X 1) X 1) X 1) X 1) X 1) X 1) X X X X X X X X FB100 X X X X X X X 2) X X X X X X X FB240 X X X X X X X X X X X X FB243 X X X X X X X X X X X 3) X Example: Type + length in mm = type No.: (X 2) ) = FB100544 (X 3) ) = FB243928 FB25 L 20 ø10.5 ø8.5 24 1.5 10 12 FB50 2.5 L 20 ø10.5 ø10.5 24 12 12 FB100 5.0 L 20 ø10.5 ø10.5 24 12 12 FB240 / 243 6.5 (8.5) 40 (30) ø12.5 ø10.5 35 L 15 (11.5) 16.5 Fig. 1 Fig. 2 ≥ 300 *) mm ≥ 300 *) mm ≥ 300 *) mm Spacer Spacer Busbar connections at I > 630 A Terminal e.g. on component Due to the dynamic short-circuit influences, spacersmust be fitted as stated.
