To address this, Schneider Electric has expanded its Acti9 range with the launch of the Acti9 iC60 H3 3-Phase Residual Current Circuit Breaker with Overcurrent Protection (RCBO), a compact solution that combines advanced protection with significant space savings. Designed to protect against overloads, short circuits and earth leakage faults, the Acti9 iC60 H3 helps customers meet the requirements of BS 7671 wiring regulations while simplifying panel design and installation. What sets the new device apart is its compact footprint. Requiring just three modules within a distribution board, compared with seven modules for previous solutions, the Acti9 iC60 H3 enables contractors and specifiers to maximise available space. This makes it particularly valuable for retrofit projects, where board capacity is often limited, as well as new-build developments where efficient panel layouts are a priority. The device also features Type A residual current protection, making it suitable for modern installations that contain electronic loads and connected equipment. Fewer wiring connections help streamline installation, reducing both complexity and installation time. Beyond protection, the Acti9 iC60 H3 supports smarter energy management. Compatible with Schneider Electric's PowerTag Energy Sensors, it can provide circuit-level energy monitoring through EcoStruxure Energy Hub and integrated building management systems. This gives building operators valuable insight into energy consumption, helping identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
