This significant milestone paves the way for the internal fit-out to be completed. A ceremony attended by key figures at Mercury and Equinix featured the customary raising of a wreath on the roof of the facility. Mercury is delivering the MU4.3 data centre in Munich for Equinix, a leading global digital infrastructure provider. With a phased fitout strategy, MU4.3 expands an operational facility and reinforces Munich’s role within Europe’s data landscape. The programme covers full scope construction with significant interfaces in a live environment. Munich remains one of Mercury’s longest standing delivery locations, backed by more than twenty years of experience in Germany’s data centre market. MU4.3 places a clear emphasis on Whole Life Carbon. Structural solutions, material selection, and coordination with existing assets are being developed with lifecycle performance in mind. Design and procurement decisions seek to support reduced embodied carbon, efficient operation, and long-term value for the campus. Reflecting on MU4.3, Operations Director Eoghan Cremin stated, “Germany has been a consistent market for Mercury for almost two decades. We are proud to be delivering another data centre build for a longstanding client in Germany and committed to outcomes that match that responsibility” MU4.3 strengthens Mercury’s position as a trusted partner to major technology operators in Europe and demonstrates our capability to manage phased expansion, live site complexity, and sustainability objectives within a mature delivery framework. Over 200,000 homes across Ireland have installed solar panels Data from the CSO shows that over 200,000 homes across Ireland have installed solar panels – many with SEAI support and some without. SEAI received over 31,000 applications for Solar PV in 2026 (to the end of July). This is a 76% increase on the same period in 2025. Moreover, free solar panels have been provided to 2,000 schools across Ireland. Over 120,000 homes have received Solar PV grants since the PV support scheme began. Where excess energy is produced, it can be sold into the grid under microgeneration. At the end of August another milestone for solar energy has been passed with installed solar capacity passing the 3 GW (GigaWatts) for the first time. The rollout of solar energy - from rooftop solar all the way up to utility-scale solar farms continue to accelerate at pace.
