From a local panel-building business to a growing force in electrical control solutions, the Monaghan-based company celebrates two decades of innovation, investment and teamwork.

Troy Panels has marked a significant milestone in its history, celebrating 20 years in business and reflecting on a journey built on technical expertise, customer relationships and a commitment to delivering quality electrical control solutions.

Founded in 2006 by directors Martin McKenna and Gareth Scott, the company began by supplying multi-metering equipment and distribution boards to customers across the north-east of Ireland. Two decades later, Troy Panels has developed into an established Irish manufacturer of bespoke electrical panels, supporting projects across a diverse range of industries.

The anniversary provides an opportunity not only to celebrate the company’s achievements, but also to recognise the people, partnerships and values that have helped shape its development.

Adapting to a changing industry

From the outset, diversification has been central to Troy Panels’ approach. As market conditions evolved, the business expanded beyond its original domestic focus, developing its capabilities in industrial applications, motor control and automation.

Today, its product range includes main and sub-distribution boards, motor control centres (MCCs), programmable logic controller (PLC) systems, variable speed drives, energy measurement solutions and power factor correction equipment.

Its ability to design and manufacture panels to individual customer specifications has enabled Troy Panels to serve a broad customer base, including food and beverage production, residential developments, industrial facilities, data centres and utilities.

In an industry where reliability, compliance and programme deadlines are critical, the company places considerable emphasis on understanding the requirements of each project. By managing the process from design and manufacture through to testing and commissioning, Troy Panels aims to provide customers with solutions tailored to their operational needs.

Investment in people and facilities

Behind every completed panel is a combination of engineering knowledge, practical skills and careful workmanship. Troy Panels’ growth reflects the contribution of its workforce, bringing together expertise across engineering, electrical assembly and panel building.

The company has also recognised the importance of developing skills for the future through training, mentoring and apprenticeship opportunities. Investing in the next generation of electrical professionals helps maintain the high standards required in modern panel manufacturing while supporting the wider electrical industry.

Investment in facilities and production capabilities has accompanied this growth. Troy Panels operates from a 20,000-square-foot facility and employs a team of approximately 60 people.

Such investment supports the manufacture and testing of increasingly sophisticated electrical systems, while helping the business respond to customer requirements and manage complex project schedules.

Strong partnerships, dependable solutions

Long-standing supplier relationships have also played an important role in the company’s development. Access to established manufacturers, technical support and a dependable supply of components is essential in a sector where product availability and specification can have a direct impact on project delivery.

Troy Panels has previously highlighted the value of its relationship with all it’s major switchgear suppliersparticularly in navigating supply-chain disruption and maintaining delivery commitments. Collaboration with suppliers, consultants, contractors and end users remains an important part of delivering successful projects.

For customers, the objective extends beyond the delivery of a finished panel. Clear identification, accessibility for installation and maintenance, rigorous testing and compliance with applicable standards all contribute to the long-term performance and reliability of an electrical installation.

Celebrating the past and looking ahead

Reaching 20 years in business is a considerable achievement in a competitive and continually evolving industry. Troy Panels’ anniversary offers a chance to reflect on the progress made since 2006, acknowledge the dedication of its employees and recognise the customers and industry partners who have supported the company along the way.

It also comes at a time when electrical infrastructure, industrial automation, energy management and the expansion of data centres are creating new demands for specialist electrical engineering and control solutions.

With its established experience, growing capabilities and continued focus on customer requirements, Troy Panels is well positioned to build on the foundations laid over the past two decades.

As the company celebrates this important anniversary, the milestone represents more than 20 years of manufacturing electrical panels. It reflects the development of a business shaped by its people, strengthened by its partnerships and driven by a determination to deliver dependable solutions for an ever-changing industry.

For Troy Panels, the celebration is both a recognition of how far the business has come and an opportunity to look forward to the next chapter of its story.
