Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, held its Innovation Day on 15th June in Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, Dublin.

Chris Collins, Country President Schneider Electric Ireland, kicked off the day by discussing the reality of the energy landscape we are currently experiencing and what we can expect for the coming years. Collins identified that reducing energy wastage could be the path to painting a much brighter future.

From Crisis to Sustainability: How Businesses Can Navigate the Energy Crisis and Drive a Sustainable Future.

“Over 60% of all the energy that is produced globally is lost or wasted before it is consumed. If we can tackle just a fraction of this shocking level of waste, then we can easily reduce Europe’s energy consumption, keep the lights on and thermostats up.” – Chris Collins, Country President Schneider Electric Ireland.

The energy crisis thread continued into the first of two key panel discussions, hosted by Rhonda Doyle, Snr Director of Field Services Operations UK&I, Schneider Electric. She was joined by John Reilly, Head of Renewable Energy at Bord na Móna, Declan Meally, Director of Business, Public and Transport at SEAI, and Tom Gorman, Operations Director at Digital Realty to discuss how businesses can navigate the energy crisis and drive a sustainable future.

Later that afternoon, Kristen Brown, Vice President of Strategy, Schneider Electric hosted a panel including Aoife O’Grady, Head of ZEVI, Kieran Campbell, Market Lead at Polestar, James Atkinson, Head of Innovation at Accenture, and Ciaran Gallagher, Head of Smart Energy Services to discuss the opportunities and challenges for electric vehicles in Ireland.

In addition to the talks and panel discussions, guests had the opportunity to see the variety of solutions available to customers to support with effective energy management at the Innovation Hub Expo. From the Wiser Home Heat System to connected distribution boards to the EcoStruxure software that delivers actionable insights for energy management, predictive maintenance and more.

All sessions will be made available to watch on demand at a later date.
