Legrand Launches New Fire Tested Pre-galvanised Cable Ladder

Legrand has unveiled its new pre-galvanised (PG) ladder, a cable management solution designed to meet the growing demand for resilient cable management systems for critical facilities such as data centres.

Legrand’s PG ladder has industry leading fire credentials, having undergone rigorous independent testing, on top of the mandatory testing to BS EN 61537. As there is no mandatory fire test for cable management systems in the UK and Ireland, the new PG ladder was put through its paces and tested to the German standard DIN4102-12 – the product showing its ability to withstand collapse for up to two hours in temperatures exceeding 1,000C. These certifications mean Legrand is able to provide a product declaration of conformity for those seeking any additional assurance.

Made in Britain, PG ladder is up to 7% lighter than the hot dip galvanised version which simplifies handing and installation and contributes to reduced energy consumption during transportation. A Product Environmental Profile (PEP) is also available to demonstrate the benefits. The ladder, created with Legrand’s Faster by Design ethos, has integral couplers on all fittings, quick-fit fasteners and requires half the usual number of fastener sets making it easier and quicker to install.

In addition to these physical and safety benefits, PG ladder comes with a range of digital support tools. Contractors can access a suite of BIM files that streamline design integration and project planning, making the installation process even more efficient.

PG ladder is well suited to a variety of environments where uninterrupted power supply and maintaining critical infrastructure are essential. Its reliable performance, and proven fire resistance make it an attractive option for data centres, health care and other facilities where system resilience is of paramount importance.

Mark Williams, Lead Marketing Manager – Cable Management at Legrand UK & Ireland, said: “For critical settings, being able to demonstrate our products’ resilience both in ambient and under fire conditions is of utmost importance. That’s why we have launched a new iteration of our Swifts cable ladder, designed for use in sensitive environments and carrying the same peace of mind as that of our other systems and finishes.”

With a focus on reliability, safety and ease of installation, new PG ladder reinforces Legrand’s commitment to delivering practical, dependable cable management solutions that meet modern industry demands.
