New Ovia Lighting division launched in Ireland

Click Litehouse, part of the Scolmore Group, has identified an opportunity to capitalise on the growing demand for the Ovia range of lighting and lighting control products across Ireland.   This has resulted in the setting up of a brand new operation which will bring the extensive range of Ovia lighting products to the whole of Ireland, via a dedicated team and through the various channels that serve the requirements of the industry across the country.

The new Ovia Ireland division is headed up by Dan Hope, a well-known figure in the lighting industry, who is operating as national sales manager for the new enterprise. Ovia Ireland is a stand-alone business that fully replicates the Ovia business operation in the UK, with access to the same products, marketing support, technical support and new product development.

Dan has a wealth of experience, industry knowledge and contacts to bring to the new role.  He joins from Ansell Lighting where he spent time as an area sales manager before being promoted and completing four years as national sales manager. He holds the LIA Certificate – considered the gold standard in lighting training – and is also a fully qualified emergency lighting commissioner.

Through the Ovia operation, Dan is keen to get the message across to the wholesalers that Ovia Ireland will have a focus on the contractor – in other words the products and service offered through the wholesalers are designed to help contractors get the most out of Ovia, with the right products, education and support that will help them take on more ambitious projects, safe in the knowledge that a trusted brand is behind them.

Commenting on his new position with Ovia in Ireland, Dan said: “It has only been a few months since we established this new Ovia division and I couldn’t be more delighted with the progress we have made and the very positive reaction we have been getting from the industry.  We have already recruited another member to the sales team and have been out there building up strategic partnerships with wholesalers and talking to contractors.  The new head office and warehouse facilities in Dublin are well on the way to being completed, with a warehouse manager in place to oversee that side of the operation and we have a significant stock holding in place to meet the demand that is being generated for the comprehensive product range.

“Despite the challenging times that the industry is currently facing, we have remained on track to deliver our objective to bring to the professional market a comprehensive range of high quality, competitively-priced products that provide contractors with innovative, quick and easy to install lighting solutions.  Due to the ongoing pandemic, Brexit, increases in component and manufacturing costs, and massive price increases in transportation of goods, it is now a challenge getting access to quality, competitively priced products and this only looks set to intensify. Therefore, bringing projects in on time and within budget is becoming more of an issue than before.

“With Click Litehouse and the Scolmore Group as the backbone of our business we have huge resource and very experienced teams in place to manage stocks and supply chain to ensure the best stability in pricing available.”

The extensive OVIA collection offers solutions for a whole spectrum of projects in a variety of sectors, including domestic, commercial, industrial, utility, amenity, emergency lighting and floodlighting. The lighting offer is further enhanced with a full range of lighting control solutions that help optimise energy savings.  With over 400 individual products lines available, OVIA continues to invest in new product development to provide contractors with the very latest products and technologies to work with.
