The Dublin electrical distributor team member balances life in electrical distribution with appearances at the Women’s World Matchplay and major WDF events.
When Ireland sealed a dominant 9–1 victory over Australia in the 2025 WDF Women’s World Cup final in Seoul, South Korea, Katie Sheldon set the tone from the very first dart.

The Dublin native, who works with electrical distributor AP Haslam, opened the final with a crucial win, helping to drive Ireland toward a commanding performance that saw them claim nine of the ten legs played. The result secured back-to-back world titles for Ireland and underlined Katie’s growing influence on the international stage.
Back-to-Back World Champions
The 2025 triumph marked Ireland’s successful defence of the WDF Women’s World Cup crown. Katie was part of a formidable four-woman squad alongside Robyn Byrne, Aoife McCormack and Denise Cassidy.
In addition to lifting the team gold medal, Ireland was also crowned Overall Best Team across the singles, pairs and team disciplines at the 2025 World Cup.
The achievement built on Ireland’s breakthrough moment in 2023, when Katie played what was described as a pivotal role in securing the nation’s first-ever Women’s World Cup gold medal in Esbjerg, Denmark. On that occasion, Ireland defeated Wales 9–7 in a dramatic final, announcing themselves as a major force in global darts.
Katie has also been part of another landmark in Irish darts history — the senior team that captured the WDF 6 Nations title for the first time, further cementing this era as a golden period for the sport in Ireland.
From Dublin Beginnings to World Stage

Born in Dublin in 2003, Sheldon began playing darts at the age of nine. Her progression through the youth ranks was swift and decisive.
She claimed the World Masters Girls title in both 2018 and 2019, alongside victory at the German Open Girls event giving early indicators of her composure in high-pressure finals. Those performances marked her out as one of Ireland’s brightest prospects and laid the foundation for her seamless transition into senior competition.
Her domestic record is equally impressive. Sheldon is a multiple-time Irish ranking event winner and added the 2025 All Ireland Youth Singles title to her growing list of honours. Titles such as the All Irelands, National Singles and Irish Masters underline her sustained excellence within one of Europe’s strongest national darts circuits.
Making Her Mark in the PDC
While excelling in WDF competition, Katie has also built a strong presence on the PDC circuit. She qualified for the inaugural Women’s World Matchplay in 2022 and returned to the televised event in 2024, reaching the quarter-final stage on both occasions.
A regular competitor on the PDC Women’s Series, she reached the final of Event Two in the 2024 campaign, further reinforcing her credentials among the sport’s elite.
Balancing these international commitments with the demands of a working life within a busy Dublin electrical distribution/manufacturing environment requires organisation, focus and reliability, qualities mirrored in her performances on the oche.
With two world titles, multiple national crowns and continued appearances on the professional circuit, Katie Sheldon’s trajectory shows no signs of slowing.
