CESCO – Celebrating 40 years in business

Founded in 1980 by Frank Cassidy and his sons, Edmund and Maurice, Cassidy Electrical Supply Company, now better known simply as ‘CESCO’ will celebrate forty years of successful business in 2020. Having disposed of their interest in the well-known distribution company ‘Irish Industrial Supplies’ the family used their industry experience to establish a new venture as CESCO and established their base at premises in Vicar Street.  Theses premises are now the site for the ‘Vicar Street’ events venue.

Business grew over the following sixteen years under Maurice and Edmund’s direction and the company relocated in 1996 to a new modern 23,000 sq. ft. premises in Dublin Industrial Estate. This move helped CESCO to develop as a leading distributor of electrical materials in the Irish electrical industry.

Having joined the family business in 2004 Edmund’s son, Brian, represents the third generation of the Cassidy family. He has recently taken on the position of managing director and is looking forward to driving the business into the future.

The company’s new website, www.cesco.ie, launched in September 2019 as part of the new marketing structure has already proven successful. Giving customers direct access to product details, images and specifications makes selection easier. The ordering facility allows for orders to be placed on-line to avail of a special ‘on-line discount.  At the same time, a new logo was also released reflecting the new. This was also well met and has proved to be very well liked.

Always at the forefront of the market within Ireland, boasting current brands such as Manrose, Modus, Landlite, OCS and Tezla (to name a few), CESCO can safely say they are a leader in the supply industry to the Irish electrical wholesalers. The wide range of products from Switches & Sockets to Cable to LED Lighting and Street Lighting means CESCO will always have something for everyone.

Having spent the last 40 years developing the product range, CESCO are aware of how important quality is in this modern time and can pride themselves knowing that while all products confirm to relevant specifications, quality must always be a priority.

23,000 sq. ft. premises

Brian tells us “CESCO has developed a reputation within the industry for customer service. We pride ourselves on the way we look after our customers and always try to meet their needs no matter how obscure.  One of the most important things I have been taught by Edmund is how important our customers are – this is why we always try to be friendly and helpful and ensure all customers queries are followed up as efficiently as possible. I have not been involved in all of the first 40 years of CESCO but having grown up spending my summers in the stores, driving the van, working in the office and now running CESCO, I know how important all our customers have been to get us here”.

“On behalf of everyone in CESCO – past and present – I would like to thank all of our customers for their support to date and look forward to the next years working together”
