Elkay – energy saving switches and controls are a brand that has been designing and manufacturing time lag and time delay switches and sensors for all types of sectors and applications since 1926. They have recently separated away from ABB and moved their entire operation from Birmingham to Belfast, Northern Ireland joining forces with Declan Gormley and his Brook Design Hardware Ltd business which, alongside Brookvent their energy saving ventilation business, will make them a major force to be reckoned with in the future.

The great news for Elkay Stockists and Distributors in the Republic of Ireland is that the full range of Elkay Energy Saving Switches and Controls are stocked by Brook Design and Hardware in Belfast for immediate delivery throughout the Republic of Ireland. Whilst many distributors and wholesalers have experienced problems with delays from the UK and with increased pricing and delays in shipping from Elkay’s competitors, it is clear Elkay can offer significantly better pricing and delivery times in comparison. They offer free collection and can deliver to site to meet customer demand anywhere in the Republic of Ireland or United Kingdom.

They are best known for their Columbus Pneumatic timers which is their best recognised product amongst electrical installers and this product can be seen in many residential communal areas. Their product suite has aesthetically pleasing wall mounted electronic Push button, Touch and PIR controls for both indoor and outdoor applications with their outdoor products sporting an impressive IP66 rating. In addition, they have ceiling mount occupancy sensors and competitively priced Microwave sensors for all types of applications including hi bay lighting applications. They also have DIN rail mount timers being added to their range from November this year to firm up their product offer.

The brand has extensive experience in the educational sector and also with healthcare and have a strong presence in many communal residential, commercial and Industrial projects.

They have plans to extend their range rapidly in the next few years and will be launching in 2022, a European range of time switches and sensors to fit European back boxes, a mini ceiling PIR and a ceiling surface mount PIR product to complement this range.

And the good news does not stop there! They have recently tied up with Elmex to supply DIN rail terminal blocks at very competitive prices and they plan to add a larger range of industrial products for control and automation including Relay Modules, Relay Terminal Units, current transformers, digital and analogue panel meters and a range of solar panel connectors and harnesses.

Elkay can be contacted directly at their Dunmurry Head office in Belfast on (02890) 616505 or via their email orders@elkay.co.uk.
