How Grant’s integrated heating technologies, smart controls and technical support help streamline project delivery.
In a heating system that brings together an air source heat pump, hot water cylinder and smart controls, decisions made at the specification stage can have a direct impact on electrical installation and commissioning. Ensuring the right components are identified and coordinated from the outset helps electrical and heating contractors plan their respective work and avoid unnecessary changes on site.
If the heat pump, hot-water cylinder and controls supplied to site differ from the agreed design, contractors may face changes to electrical connections, controls integration and installation requirements.
Integrated heating technologies and smart controls
Modern heat pump installations involve more than the heat pump itself. For electrical contractors, understanding the electrical supply, connections and controls requirements, alongside how the heating system will operate across different zones and meet domestic hot water demands, is an important part of installation planning.
An integrated Grant heating solution may bring together the award-winning Grant Aerona R290 air source heat pump, available in outputs ranging from 4kW to 16kW, Quick Recovery hot water cylinder, Uflex underfloor heating and Aerona Smart Controller, with the technologies selected and specified to meet the requirements of the individual property.
The Aerona Smart Controller supports the management of heating and domestic hot water, including multiple heating zones and weather-compensated operation.
For electrical contractors, early visibility of the specified equipment can help with planning electrical connections, coordinating controls installation with other trades and completing the necessary electrical testing ahead of heat pump commissioning by Grant.
A clear schedule for the whole system
Grant’s free Heating Design & Specification Service sizes and specifies the heating system for each heat pump project. Its technical team provides a detailed specification and bill of materials, giving merchants a clear schedule of the products required for supply.
The service includes in-depth heat loss calculations, system sizing, heating layouts and product specification, helping to establish heating system requirements before installation begins.
For electrical contractors, this provides greater clarity on the heating technologies and controls specified for the project, supporting coordination of electrical connections and controls installation with other trades.
Supporting installation through specification and supply
Ensuring that the products supplied to site match the agreed heating system specification is an important part of coordinated project delivery. Grant’s nationwide network of plumbing and heating merchants provides local access to its heating technologies, accessories and spare parts, while helping project teams order the components identified for each installation.
“At Grant, the distribution of our heating technologies has always been through our dedicated network of plumbing and heating merchants across Ireland,” said Barry Gorman, National Renewable Sales Manager at Grant. “We are proud of the relationships we have developed with our merchants and grateful for their continued support.”
“Our integrated heating packages bring together technologies designed and specified to work as part of a complete heating system, giving our merchant network a clear package to order and supply,” said Gorman.
Grant supports merchants with product training and technical information, while its wider project support includes installation advice, free heat-pump commissioning carried out by Grant’s technical team and ongoing aftercare.
By bringing together integrated heating technologies, professional design and specification support, and an established merchant network, Grant helps project teams coordinate the right products and technical requirements from the outset, supporting efficient installation and a coordinated project delivery.
