Darren Staniforth and Dave Austin are coming back with a brand-new series of FREE TechTalks designed to bring you up to speed with more electrical standards and changes in our industry.

Doors open at 8 o’clock each morning and there will be breakfast available for all. Several suppliers will be exhibiting at the venues so why not drop in, have a bit of breakfast and chat with the product experts.

09:05 – 09:25 Thermal Imaging Explained
The basics of thermal imaging looking at the available technology and the pitfalls that can confuse the user.

09:25 – 09:40 Working Safely with DC
With the increased use of DC in installations resulting from the widespread installation of Solar PV, electric vehicles and battery storage across Europe, we consider the dangers, particularly with regard to safe use of connectors and use of DC isolaters.

09:40 – 09:55 Domestic Fire and CO Requirements
Ei Electronics present on changes and equipment that detect smoke and carbon monoxide.

09:55 – 10:10 I.S. 3217:2023 NEW Emergency Lighting Standards
This new standard gives guidelines for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of emergency lighting systems. We look at changes and how to work to thje standard.

10:10 – 10:40  Refreshment Break

10:40 – 11:25 Key Changes to NSAI 10101
Review the major changes to the National Wiring Rules. We concentrate on Prosumer installations and EV charging changes and get insight from Amanda-Jane Gainford, Standards Officer Electrotechnical at the NSAI.

11:25 – 11:40 Meter Tails Considerations
It is imperative that meter tails are inspected before any amendments or alterations are done to the installation to ensure they are fit for new circumstance.
