A Legacy of Excellence Continues with Incoming CEO Leo Clancy.

After more than four decades at the helm of Ei Electronics, Mick Guinee, the company’s founder and long-serving CEO, will step down from his role on March 31, 2025. While Mr Guinee is relinquishing his position as Chief Executive Officer, he will continue to play a key role in the company’s strategic direction as Chairman of the Board.

Guinee’s leadership has been instrumental in transforming Ei Electronics from a fledgling venture into a world-class manufacturer of fire and home safety products. Under his guidance, the company, headquartered in Shannon, has expanded its global footprint, achieving over €420 million in worldwide sales and employing 1,250 people—1,000 of whom are based in Ireland.

Reflecting on his tenure, Guinee emphasised his pride in building an internationally recognised company while staying true to its Irish roots. “At the heart of our success has been our commitment to our core values of Quality, Integrity, and Respect. Above all, it is very rewarding to be manufacturing life-safety products that have safeguarded lives in millions of homes worldwide,” he said.

As Ei Electronics looks to its future, the company has announced that Leo Clancy will step in as its new CEO, effective April 1, 2025. Clancy, an experienced leader in technology and business development, previously served as CEO of Enterprise Ireland, where he played a key role in fostering innovation and international growth for Irish companies. His prior experience includes leadership positions at IDA Ireland, Ericsson, and e-net.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the role, Clancy stated, “I am honoured to succeed Mick Guinee as CEO of Ei Electronics. Mick’s legacy is extraordinary, and Ei is an incredible Irish success story. I look forward to working with Mick and the talented team at Ei Electronics to drive the company’s next phase of growth and innovation.”

Guinee’s continued involvement as Chairman ensures a seamless transition, while Clancy’s leadership signals a new era for Ei Electronics—one that is poised to build on its legacy of excellence and global expansion.
