PRECISION CABLES – 40 Years providing the best cable solutions

- Advertisment -

In 2020, Precision Cables celebrates 40 years delivering cable solutions in Ireland. Over this period the company has experienced and embraced many changes in the Irish electrical industry market. Simultaneously, Precision Cables has successfully managed restructuring and rebranding of its core distribution brand from Pirelli to Prysmian.

The company hopes to celebrate this milestone birthday with commencement of a new custom-built distribution centre near the current facility in Dundalk, Co Louth. This would offer better opportunity to realise expansion plans for current brands and product ranges and allow for additional brands to be added to the portfolio.

Precision Cables is the exclusive distributor in Ireland for the Prysmian Group, the largest cable manufacturer in the world with worldwide turnover of $11 Billion. ‘Managing major cable solutions for projects such as Terminal 2 Dublin Airport, Aviva Stadium, Capital Dock and many other examples, has given us unequivocal experience in the technical, logistical and day to day management issues that can arise and much of our success often lies in our ability to meet these issues head on and find solutions in the most effective and economic method within regulatory and production limitations’ , states Fergus O’Callaghan, Managing Director, Precision Cables. ‘We have gained an excellent level of trust in our brands and in our service from project managers and site managers on such projects and we look forward in the coming decade to growing and developing on this. You would find it very difficult in recent years to find a key development project throughout Ireland that has not trusted and incorporated the Prysmian brand’.

The electrical wholesaler market has changed remarkably over the last 20 years with acquisitions from larger multi-nationals and the development of key buying groups made up of nationwide independent wholesalers. Precision Cables enjoys huge loyalty and trust in the brands and service throughout this market, developed from years of real integrity toward individual customers and relationships going as far back as the 40 years in the business. Next year the company will invest heavily in marketing activities to consolidate this business position, celebrating 40 years in the business and thus making them the oldest cable supplier in Ireland.

‘We aim at all times to be a cable solution company to our customers and not just a business that sells cables’.
